The Servants' Pantry

Because of the difficulty he had with the White House's housekeeper, Franklin Roosevelt had a diet kitchen installed on the third floor in what had been a pantry for the servants who lived in the attic before it was expanded (no servants have lived in the White House for several decades).

Since this space is over the North Portico, it has a sloped roof with a skylight to bring in natural light.
