Third Floor Un-Sitting Room

This room was a sitting room on the third floor of the White House for many years until the Clintons turned it into an exercise room. Before the Truman reconstruction squared off the third floor corners, it was part of the northwest suite used by the Hoovers' housekeeper. After the 1952 reconstruction, it was furnished as a guest bedroom.

Jackie Kennedy made this the "blue toile" guest room, to complement the "red toile" Empire Room in the opposite corner. It was later turned into a sitting room again before eventually becoming an exercise room.
